From farm to diner: a network for food security in Acre, 24PAC2009B, 2009-2010
Realized in partnership with the Consorzio SIR of Milan, the Municipality of Rio Branco and the Government of Acre State
This decentralized cooperation project strengthened three social micro-enterprises: the Carpentry and the Garden of the Recovery Community Caminho de Luz with its kitchen, and Boa Vista Gardens.
The beneficiaries were the small local producers (farmers and their families, in particular women living thanks to their mainly income derived from agriculture), people with a strong social hardship and addiction in recovery through the employment, local communities and leaders of local communities, government officials, staff of NGOs and other entities.
For the community Caminho de Luz they were involved 30 workers of carpentry and garden.
For Hortas, agricultural parcels of the Boa Vista Gardens, they were involved 10 families in the organic production of vegetables and 56 women associated in the cooperative Cooparb to work the chestnut.
